SHARPS PROGRAM

BONITA FIRE-RESCUE EXPANDS ‘SHARPS’ DISPOSAL PROGRAM

Bonita Springs Fire-Rescue has expanded its "sharps' disposal program to now include three fire stations.  "Sharps" include used syringes with attached needles and disposable lancets

Insulin dependent residents, or others whose medical conditions require the use of injected medication can pick up new sharps containers and deposit used containers at the following Bonita Springs Fire Stations:

  • Fire Station One at 27490 Old 41 Road

  • Fire Station Two at 28055 Mango Drive

  • Fire Station Three at 25001 South Tamiami Trail

  • Fire Station Four at 27701 Bonita Grande Drive

The business offices of Station Four are staffed Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. –  5 p.m. Used containers can be delivered to the above fire stations as long as firefighters are in the station to accept used containers. It is critical that residents do not leave used containers outside fire station if firefighters are not available to personally accept the container. The purpose of the program is to ensure that used needles are disposed of properly.
