Most
people can tell you what a fire extinguisher looks like and what
purpose it serves, but few have ever had hands-on
experience. Because fire extinguishers can be very
successful in extinguishing household fires, this hour-long
presentation combines video, lecture and hands-on
instruction. The presentation consists of a discussion on
the different types of fire extinguishers, with video examples of
the proper ways extinguishers should be used.
Classes in fire extinguisher operation provide hands-on instruction, and participants can
extinguish a small fire under close supervision of firefighters.
This class is popular with
businesses that are required to meet certain safety and training regulations for employees. There is no charge for this class. Extinguishers are donated by Advanced Fire Systems.
