This year’s parade theme was selected by Bonita Springs Elementary students. Mr. Diederich’s third grade class decided the 2011 parade theme is Honoring Our Community Service People. “My class and I think it would be an outstanding opportunity to honor and celebrate all those who make this community and our country great.” stated Mr. Diederich. The Bonita Springs Fire Control and Rescue District recently filed an application with Lee County to be able to provide an ambulance transport service to benefit the residents of our community.
BSFCRD’s proposal is to expand our current level of advanced life support non-transport service to an emergency medical ambulance transport service. We would provide four 24-hour ambulances, where LCEMS currently provides only two 24-hour and one 12-hour ambulance in our community.
Read more information about our proposal from Fire Chief Phil Kinsey Jr. by clicking here and access the link below to see how Bonita Springs can achieve the most rapid response times and the highest quality of pre-hospital patient care available.

POOL AND WATER SAFETY- LAYERS OF PROTECTION: |
In the U.S. each year, more than 1,000 children ages 14 and younger drown in pools, lakes, bathtubs and many other open water areas. In Florida, drowning is the leading cause of accidental death for infants and young children under the age of four years. Help stop this epidemic and protect your children. |

TALKING TO KIDS ABOUT FIRE SAFETY: |
It's a horrible feeling to search a burning house and be too late. An even worse scenario involves children who flee in terror when we approach, maybe even before we see them.
Start talking to kids about fire safety. Kids as young as 2 years old cause fatal house fires. These tips will help parents and teachers educate children about fire prevention and home fire survival skills. Kids should learn how to identify fire hazards and avoid potentially fatal fires.
